Support your herbal wellness routine with Organic Echinacea in a 40g pack. Echinacea contains echinacoside, a naturally occurring compound associated with its traditional use as an “infection fighter.” It is commonly used for immune support and the lymphatic and blood systems.

This echinacea preparation is also associated with seasonal concerns, including colds, flu, tonsillitis, laryngitis, and other upper respiratory tract infections. Other listed uses include ear and bladder infections, acne, bed sores, tissue repair, and support for healthy cellular responses.

  • Format: Organic echinacea supplied in a 40g pack.
  • Plant allergy note: Avoid this product if you are allergic to plants in the Asteraceae family.
  • Medication note: Avoid use with immunosuppressive drugs, including Neoral, Cicloral, and Cyosporin.
  • Health conditions: Commission E advises against echinacea for progressive conditions such as tuberculosis, leukosis, collagenosis, multiple sclerosis, AIDS, HIV infection, and other autoimmune disorders.

If you have asthma or an ongoing health condition, seek qualified medical advice before using echinacea.

Echinacea is often referred to as the infection fighter. It contains a natural antibiotic echinacoside, which is comparable to penicillin.

May be useful for but not limited to:

Immune system booster.

Powerful lymphatic & blood cleanser.

Cold & flu preventative.

Upper respiratory tract infections, such as tonsillitis & laryngitis.

Delay cancerous growths, reduct tumours & promote tissue repair.

Also useful for ear & bladder infections, acne & bed sores.

Avoid if you have an allergy against plants of the Asteraceae family. Root preparations have minimal risk. Pollen proteins that may cause an allergic reaction are denatured by alcohol, the risk of allergic reactions are minimal when using alcoholic extracts or tablets based on dried alcoholic extracts. It increases cytokines, which provoke the inflammatory response in asthmatics. However, this reaction was found in a study based on constituents in vitro. A clinical study based on oral echinacea showed no detectable effect on cytokine production by lymphocytes. As the use of echinacea acts to reduce the frequency of respiratory viral infections, which are known to aggravate asthma, many herbalists conducer echinacea to be beneficial for asthma. Commission E monograph stated, “In principle, echinacea is not to be used in progressive conditions such as tuberculous, leukosis, collagenosis, MS, AIDS, HIV infection & other autoimmune disorders.” However, this claim is not supported by any solid evidence (such as clinical trials etc.) Many herbalists consider echinacea to be of value in such disorders due to the beneficial effect is has on the immune system. There is no evidence that echinacea should not be taken long-term if it is indicated.

Avoid with immunosuppressive drugs (Neoral, Cicloral, Cyosporin).
